The 2008 vintage followed a cool summer growing season, and was noteworthy for the small quantity of fruit set at bloom and for the lovely, and extended "Indian Summer" which allowed a longer hang time and defined the ripeness for the vintage. The Estate Reserve from this year is dark, structured, and is only beginning to show well in tasting. In contrast to the 2009, which is all about succulent elegance, the 2008 is a keeper for the cellar.
